The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) professional certification is offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to agile practitioners. The Agile principles and mindset domain can be considered the most important compared to all the other areas. This domain was included in the PMI-ACP exam in the year 2015, with a lot of people arguing this domain differentiates Agile methods from approaches that are based on the waterfall model.

The PMI-ACP certification recognizes everyone's expertise in Agile methods. It does this by focusing equally on skills and knowledge in addition to Agile techniques and tools. This domain accounts for a significant, 16% of the total items tested in the PMI-ACP exam. The objectives of this domain are to define Agile, discuss best Agile practices, give a description of the Agile manifestos, outline core Agile practices and principles and describe the benefits of Agile.

Definition of Agile

Agile refers to a group of methodologies for product development where solutions and customer requirements go through different phases of collaboration, planning, and delivery as shown in the picture below. These cycles, when repeated, helps in delivering the correct solution at the required time.
