MODULE 6: JARS &ACCELERATORS

In today’s drilling market no one can afford to get stuck – the costs are simply too high – especially if the incident leads to having to side-track or abandon the well. The more Drilling Personnels know about Stuck Pipe Prevention, the less likelihood of becoming stuck.

In this module, we begin by looking at what a jar is, the types of jars, jar description, and their successful usage. We then look at the forces required to fire jars, accelerator description, and jar and accelerator positioning.

This course is presented by Dr. Michael Gibson who has 40 years of Drilling Industry experience and he has written a great deal of training material throughout the years as well as many SPE, IADC, and Industry Conference Papers.
