Python

Python is a general-purpose programming language with a high level of abstraction. Its design philosophy prioritizes code readability through the use of substantial indentation. Its language elements and object-oriented approach are intended to assist programmers in writing clear, logical code for small and large-scale projects.

Python, which was created in the late 1980s by Guido van Rossum, has progressed as an open-source programming language via controlling public dialogue via Python Enhancement Proposals (PEPs). Van Rossum stepped down as the language's Benevolent Dictator For Life (BDFL) in 2018, and a steering council was formed to act as the language's leadership, as specified in PEP 13.

The Python Software Foundation (PSF) is a non-profit company with 501(c)(3) status that owns the intellectual property rights to the Python programming language. This comprises Python 2.1 and beyond, PyPI, the CPython reference implementation, and the language's infrastructure. The PSF also awards rewards for software craftsmanship and hosts several PyCon conferences each year.
