Though DISC profiling has become a widely used behavioral assessment tool, people still have several misconceptions about DISC profiles. The purpose of the DISC personality test was to learn various behavioral styles and help in personal development and corporate training. But, these confusions have made it more difficult for people to understand one another.

DISC Personality Test
William Moulton Marston believed that a person’s behavior depends on the four personality traits: dominance, influence, steadiness, and compliance. This statement doesn’t mean that there are only four DISC personality test. But it implies that a DISC personality profile of a person is a combination of these traits in different percentages.
Based on these combinations, a person develops his/her unique behavior, style, and personality. Some people have two DISC styles, some have three, and some even have all four traits. So, the DISC assessment model provides endless possibilities of personality types.

D-Style Profile (Dominance):
D stands for dominance, so people with a D-Style profile are dominant and decisive. Being confident, they step up and assume leadership roles. People with D-type personalities enjoy challenges and take risks to overcome them. D-Styles are very direct in their communication and don’t mind indulging in arguments. They focus on the results and want to get things done. So, they can be effective leaders with good management skills.
I-Style Profile (Influence):
People having I-Style DISC profiles are harmonious and enlivening. They like to mix with the people, understand one another, and create a friendly atmosphere in the team. They always consider the human factor when making a decision. The greatest weapon of I’s is their exceptional communication skills.They create a lively atmosphere in the workplace, so you will have a good time working with them.They can give the best performance in departments like sales, marketing, customer support, or any field that requires interaction with customers.
S-Style Profile (Steadiness):
S personality type is characterized by being supportive and stable. The last thing they want in a team is conflict, so they are more cooperative, compromising, and self-effacing. S-Styles are polite and friendly, but shy to start a conversation. They work at a steady pace and help their colleagues.As they prefer stability, so their biggest fear is change.
C-Style Profile (Compliance):
C-Style profile types are perfectionist and analytical. As detail-oriented people, they make slow but calculated decisions. They work in a methodological and systematic way. Having an introverted and reserved behavioral style, C’s like to talk straight to the point. They want to gather all the information, so you will find them asking a lot of questions. They seem to be critical but are cautious and conscientious.
