DescriptionClimate change is a growing problem. How can we address it? One of the many answers lie in biodiversity. The objective of this course is to give an overview of biodiversity in today’s context, highlight its importance and why we need to conserve it. The course will give insight into various definitions of biodiversity, definitions of species, as well as the scaling of definitions from communities to ecosystems. The course will highlight issues that challenge biodiversity as well as the conservation approaches and strategies that are being implemented to reduce biodiversity loss.
Biodiversity and Climate Change
A lot has changed in the past centuries but these changes seemed to have not been for the better. Nature is vulnerable but the changes in climate have made it even more vulnerable. This course will explore how climate change affects biodiversity in general. The good thing is it also presents solutions that can lead to the healing of the terrestrial and aquatic worlds.
