This course is an introduction to the fundamental aspects of Laban, from warm up, to "States" and 'Effort Actions', and how these can begin to be used for character physicalisation.

This course differs from the more commonly offered academic or dance focussed approaches. This is Laban for Actors. The multiple live online courses on which this this course is based tries to lead with the physical experience the qualities first, before describing it with the Laban classification. So, often you will be receiving instructions on how to move, before learning the term for it.

Also, being able to go back and repeat classes means layering learning upon learning. As your proprioception (your sense of body position or shape in space) and kinesthesia (your sense of movement in space) improves , you will unlock more revelations. These new abilities will then combine with your existing acting technique.

The learning process can be hard on your own. Scheduled live classes can be costly and hard to find depending on your location. With constant practice you will bring a better more embodied actor to any other courses, characters or castings.
