DescriptionThis is a preventative mental health course by an accredited mental health therapist. A shadow epidemic of mental illness follows us in light of Covid-19 and the disruptions this has caused to daily routines and sleep. Individuals with no previous history of mental illness are finding it increasingly difficult to manage stress, experience irritability, fatigue and reduced focus with the ongoing impact of the pandemic. As we have basic knowledge in the management of physical health conditions, it is now increasingly important to have basic health awareness of our mental health needs.
This course provides health information to help you gain confidence and make informed health decisions for yourself and empower you to make sustainable changes to improve your sleep, routines and overall quality of life. This course is provided through an occupational therapy lens to provide practical tips to improve your health and wellbeing. Occupational Therapists work in hospitals, NGO’s, private and public sectors of the healthcare field and work closely with other allied health professionals including psychologists, social workers, speech pathologists, dieticians and physiotherapists.
It is never too late to prioritize your wellbeing. Empower yourself with the information you need to gain control over your daily routines. Prevention is always better than a cure.
