The aim of the course is to teach you about why allyship is important and how you can be a better ally in your personal & professional lives.

What is an Ally?

An ally is any person that actively promotes and aspires to advance the culture of inclusion through intentional, positive and conscious efforts that benefit people as a whole.

This course will teach you about:

Privilege, microaggressions, unconscious bias, inclusive language, the importance of Allyship in your personal & professional lives and how you can be a better Ally.

The course has been developed with coaching style questions and exercises that are designed for you to access your thought process & reframe your mindset.

The questions can be either used as self-reflection questions or used to facilitate group discussions.

By the end of the course, you will have learnt:

• What privilege is

• What microaggresions are and the impacts of them

• How unconscious bias works & the damaging effects

• What is deemed inclusive and non-inclusive language

• You will have had the opportunity to reflect on your own privilege and challenge your unconscious biases using practical exercises and coaching style questions.

• You will have a good understanding of what allyship is & be equipped with practical tips on how you can be a better ally in your personal & professional lives.

• You will have had the opportunity to reflect and reframe your thoughts throughout the course using coaching style questions.

• If used as a facilitated group discussion, then you would have had the opportunity to discuss thought provoking questions together to open up the dialogue and create a safe space on uncomfortable topics in order to educate and bring about change within the group.
