The Hook - we investigate the definition, characteristics, and types of hooks, as well as look at some examples.

Connecting sentences – we learn about the purposes and types of connecting sentences in the introduction paragraph and look at several examples of the various types of connecting sentences.

Thesis statement – we discuss the characteristics and purposes of the all-important thesis statement and also take a look at the steps to follow when writing a strong thesis statement.

Signposting and Transitions – we take a quick look at the important role that these types of words and phrases fulfill in the introduction paragraph of your essay.
