What you'll learn- Disability professional development training
DescriptionThis course dives into my doctoral capstone project that was worked on in collaborate with the Madison School Community and Recreation organization. The purpose is to inform others on the important of educating on how to work with kids with disabilities through increasing their knowledge based on a variety of disabilities. Within this course will be content focused on research that was used to help support different ideas, learning objectives/artifacts that were used to help develop the project, as well as some background of the site itself. Integrated within this course are various themes of occupational therapy that helped with its development. I believe the biggest difference is not one that is hands on but that is done behind the scenes. This project is a culmination of a collaborative effort that's main goal is to help support children with disabilities in Madison School Community and Recreation organization. This is a passion of mine because I have always loved working with kids and believe that every child should have the opportunity to play. The hope is that as you go through this course you perspective and approach on disability is slightly changed for the better and disability is seen as something that is celebrated.
