In this introduction to plarn, you'll learn how to turn your old plastic bags into yarn, which you'll then use to create a cute and durable reusable market tote! It's environmentally friendly, the bags are free, and it's lots of fun! I recommend using "traditional" plastic bags, rather that the more rubbery, stretchy bags like trash bags, but the color and size doesn't matter! You can make your market tote a single color, striped, or completely random, and it will still turn out great!

Prerequisites:

While I will review all the stitches we're going to use, it's helpful if you've crocheted before. Plarn is a little more difficult to work with than traditional yarn, and the focus of this class is really on how to make and use plarn, and less on how to crochet. We will primarily be using double crochet stitches, but also some slip stitches. The pattern is pretty easy to follow, and a written pdf with instructions is included in the first Market Tote lesson.
