DescriptionWould you like to take your Business English to the next level?
When I speak of Business English Communication, this includes: verbal and non-verbal communication - your words, tone of voice and body language. Improving your communication skills for work and business will raise your self-esteem and give you more confidence when interacting with other professionals. It could also potentially lead to many opportunities, including: a promotion, a pay rise, or perhaps a change in the direction of your career.
In this course:
I’m going to give you the skills to build relationships quickly by understanding your own communication style and those of others, and how to speak using words that relate to them. When you use their vocabulary, they’ll want to engage in conversation with you and listen to what you have to say.
If your job involves client acquisition, learning to speak in your prospect’s preferred communication style will help grow your client base. If you manage a team or work with different departments, knowing how to communicate using words that relate to them will help you to build trust and effective working teams.
For many of you, perfect days that run without any challenges will be rare, so, I’m going to teach you how to handle challenging people and situations in English to prevent problems from escalating. I’ll teach you how to see things from the other person’s perspective and communicate in their style using appropriate tone and words.
When you are tasked with giving negative feedback, it’s often challenging to know what to say and how to say it. You are going to learn how to give feedback positively and constructively to gain the loyalty of your team.
Now a topic that is often excluded in business English courses, as it is considered a sensitive topic by some, is How To Ask For a Raise.
You may find giving a presentation or presenting an idea challenging, so I’m going to show you how to use rapport, questioning techniques and personalized communication to impact your audience and influence them to take action on your ideas.
Each section builds on the previous one and you will be quizzed at the end of each section to check your understanding. I’ve also included PDFs for you to download as reference material for further study and for use in the workplace.
