DescriptionWelcome to my course based on "Basic Concept of Electroplating and Redox Reaction"
In this course, you will learn about electroplating, redox reaction, cathode, and anode. Electroplating is a process used to coat one metal with that of a separate metal.
Oxidation is the loss of electrons during a reaction by a molecule, atom, or ion.
Oxidation occurs when the oxidation state of a molecule, atom, or ion is increased. The opposite process is called reduction.
Cathode:
The cathode is the negatively charged electrode.
A cathode is an electrode where the electricity flows out of
or given out.
The cathode attracts cations or a positive charge.
The cathode acts as an electron acceptor.
A reduction reaction takes place at the cathode in an electrolytic cell.
The cathode is the source of electrons or an electron donor. It may accept a positive charge.
Anode:
The anode is the positively charged electrode.
An anode is an electrode where the electricity moves into.
The anode attracts electrons or anions.
The anode acts as an electron donor.
An oxidation reaction takes place at the anode in an electrolytic cell.
The anode may be a source of positive charge or an electron acceptor.
So, we will cover:
Define Oxidation.
Definition of Cathode and Anode.
What are Electroplating and examples?
What is a Lithium battery?
Gather the materials.
