Daniel Loves the Beach (İngilizce)

Every Saturday Daniel and his family go to the beach. They live far from the beach, but once a week the family gets into the car and Daniel’s father drives for hours until they arrive.

Daniel’s parents love the beach. Daniel and his sister and brother love the beach. The family’s dog loves the beach very much. But it is a problem to go to the beach every week. Daniel’s father gets tired from driving so many hours.

The rest of the family gets tired from sitting in the car for so many hours. Daniel’s mother says: “It’s fun in the beach, but it takes too much time to get there and back!” Daniel and his sister and brother are very sad. They want to go to the beach, but it is a problem.

They try to go the swimming pool, but it is not the same thing. One day Daniel’s parents come to talk with the kids. They say: “We have a problem to go to the beach every week, but we love the beach, and you love the beach, and the dog loves the beach. So we have a solution.

We need to live near the beach!” Daniel and his sister and brother are very happy! Now they live near the beach. They go to the beach every day!

Plaj sever Daniel (Türkçe)

Her Cumartesi Daniel ve ailesi plaja giderlermiş. Onlar plajdan uzakta yaşıyorlarmış , fakat haftada bir bütün aile arabaya atlar plaja varana kadar Daniel in babası arabayı sürermiş.

Daniel’ın annesi ve babası plajı çok seviyorlarmış. Daniel , kız ve erkek kardeşi de plajı severmiş. Ailenin köpeği de plajı çok seviyormuş. Fakat plaja her hafta gitmek sorunmış. Daniel’ın babası saatlerce araba kullanmaktan yoruluyormuş.

Ailenin geri kalanı o kadar saat arabada oturmaktan yoruluyormuş. Daniel’ın annesi demişki “ Plaja gitmek zevkli, fakat oraya gitmek ve ordan dönmek çok zamanımızı alıyor.” Daniel, kız kardeşi ve erkek kardeşi bu duruma çok üzülürler. Onlar plaja gitmek istiyorlar fakat bu da sorun oluyormuş. Onlar yüzme havuzuna da gitmeyi denemişler, fakat ikisi aynı şey değilmiş.

Bir gün Daniel’ın anne ve babası çocuklarla konuşmaya gelmişler. Ve demişler ki:” Bizim her hafta plaja gitmek gibi bir problemimiz var, fakat biz plajı seviyoruz ve siz de seviyorsunuz ve de köpek de seviyor. Bu yüzden bir çözümüz var.

Plajın yakınlarında yaşamamız gerekiyor.” Daniel, kız ve erkek kardeşleriyle beraber çok mutlu olmuşlar! Artık plajın yakınında yaşıyorlarmış. Her gün plaja gidiyorlarmış!

Elephant and Friends (İngilizce)

One day an elephant wandered into a forest in search of friends. He saw a monkey on a tree. “Will you be my friend?” asked the elephant.

Replied the monkey, “You are too big. You can not swing from trees like me.” Next, the elephant met a rabbit. He asked him to be his friends.

But the rabbit said, “You are too big to play in my burrow!” Then the elephant met a frog. “Will you be my friend? He asked.

“How can I?” asked the frog. “You are too big to leap about like me.” The elephant was upset.

He met a fox next. “Will you be my friend?” he asked the fox.

The fox said, “Sorry, sir, you are too big.” The next day, the elephant saw all the animals in the forest running for their lives.

The elephant asked them what the matter was. The bear replied, “There is a tiger in the forest. He’s trying to gobble us all up!” The animals all ran away to hide. The elephant wondered what he could do to save everyone in the forest.

Meanwhile, the tiger kept eating up whoever he could find. The elephant walked up to the tiger and said, “Please, Mr. Tiger, do not eat up these poor animals.” “Mind your own business!” growled the tiger.

The elephant has a no choice but to give the tiger a hefty kick. The frightened tiger ran for his life. The elephant ambled back into the forest to announce the good news to everyone.

All the animals thanked the elephant. They said, “You are just the right size to be our friend.”

Fil ve Arkadaşları (Türkçe)

Bir gün bir fil arkadaş aramak için ormanda geziniyormuş. Ağaçta bir maymun görmüş. “Benim arkadaşım olur musun?” diye sormuş fil.

Maymun da “Sen çok büyüksün . Benim gibi ağaçlardan sallanamazsın” demiş.

Daha sonra, fil bir tavşanla karşılaşmış. Ona da arkadaşım olur musun diye sormuş. Fakat tavşan “ Sen benim sen benim yuvamda oynamak için çok büyüksün” demiş.

Sonra fil bir kurbağayla tanışmış. Ona da “Benim arkadaşım olur musun?” diye sormuş. “Nasıl olurum?” diye sormuş kurbağa. “Sen benim gibi sıçramak için çok büyüksün.” demiş. Fil çok üzgünmüş.

Sonrasında bir tilkiyle karşılaşmış. Tilkiye de “Benim arkadaşım olur musun?” diye sormuş. Tilki de “ Üzgünüm efendim, siz çok büyüksünüz” demiş.

Bir sonraki gün, fil bütün hayvanların ormanda kendi canları için koşuşturduklarını görmüş. Fil onlara sorunun ne olduğunu sormuş. Ayı da “Ormanda bir kaplan var. Hepimizi yemeye çalışıyor.” demiş. Bütün hayvanlar saklanmak için kaçıyorlarmış.

Fil de ormandaki herkesi kurtarmak için ne yapabileceğini düşünmüş. Bu arada, kaplan ormanda kimi bulduysa yiyiyormuş.

Fil kaplana doğru yürümüş ve demiş ki “Lütfen Bay Kaplan, bu zavallı hayvanları yemeyin.” “Kendi işine bak!” diye hırlamış kaplan. Filin kaplana ağır bir tekme indirmekten başka çaresi yokmuş. Korkmuş kaplan canını kurtarmak için kaçmış.

Fil herkese iyi haberi vermek için ormana dönmüş. Bütün hayvanlar file teşekkür etmişler. Hepsi “Sen bizim arkadaşımız olmak doğru boyuttasın” demişler.

A Surprise from Australia (İngilizce)

The school ends and Erica quickly puts her books in the bag and runs out of the class.

Today is a special day. Erica is very excited.

She runs home and thinks about her uncle. She spoke with him on the phone a week ago. He returns from Australia, and he brings a special surprise with him!

Erica is very happy. She thinks about the surprise that he brings. “Maybe he brings a surfboard? That is fun! I can learn how to surf!” “Maybe he brings Australian nuts? Oh, I can eat nuts all day!” “Or maybe he brings a kangaroo? That is not good. I don’t have a place in my room for a kangaroo…”

Erica finally arrives home. Her parents are there, and her uncle is there! She is very happy to see him.

They hug and she jumps up and down. “Uncle, uncle,” she calls, “what special surprise do you have for me from Australia?” “Well,” her uncle smiles and answers, “I have for you an Australian aunt!”

Avustralya’dan gelen sürpriz (Türkçe)

Okul bitmiş ve Erica kitaplarını çantasına koymuş ve de sınıftan dışarı koşmuş.

Bugün özel bir günmüş. Erica çok heyecanlıymış.

Erica eve koşmuş ve amcasını düşünmüş. Erica amcasıyla bir hafta öncesinde konuşmuş. Amcası Avustralya’dan dönüyormuş ve yanında özel bir sürpriz getiriyormuş. Erica çok mutluymuş. Amcasının getireceği hediyeyi düşünüyormuş. “Belki sörf tahtası getirir? Bu eğlenceli olurdu! Nasıl sörf yapılacağını öğrenebilirim.” demiş “Belki Avustralya fındığı getirir?

Böylece bütün gün fındık yiyebilirim.” demiş. “Belki de kanguru getirir? Bu iyi olmazdı. Çünkü odamda kanguruya yetecek kadar yer yok.” demiş.

Erica sonunda eve varmış. Ailesi amcasıyla beraber evdelermiş. Erica amcasını gördüğü için çok mutlu olmuş.

Birbirlerine sarılmışlar , Erica da bir aşağı bir yukarı zıplamış. “Amca, amca “ demiş “Benim için Avustralya’dan hangi özel sürprizi getirdin?” diye sormuş. Amcası “Şeyy” demiş . Sonra gülmüş ve cevaplamış “Senin için Avustralyadan yenge getirdim” demiş.

Act like the Others (İngilizce)

Jack and Lydia are on holiday in France with their friends, Mike and Anna.

Mike loves to visit historical buildings. Jack agrees to sightsee some historical buildings with him.

Lydia and Anna decide to shop in the city. “See you boys when we get back!” the girls shout.

In the village Jack and Mike see a beautiful old church, but when they enter the church, a service is already in progress.

“Shh! Just sit quietly, so that we don’t stand out. And act like the others!” Mike whispers.

Since they don’t really know French, Jack and Mike quietly sit down. During the service, they stand, kneel and sit to follow what the rest of the crowd do.

“I hope we blend in and don’t look like tourists!” Mike tells Jack.

At one point, the priest makes an announcement and the man who sits next to Jack and Mike stands up.

“We should stand up, too!” Jack whispers to Mike.

So, Jack and Mike stand up with the man. Suddenly, all the people burst into laughter!

After the service, Jack and Mike approach the priest, who speaks English.

“What’s so funny?” Jack asks.

With a smile on his face the priest says, “Well boys, there is a new baby born, and it’s tradition to ask the father to stand up.”

Jack and Mike look at each other and Mike shakes his head. He smiles and says, “I guess we should understand what people do before we act like the others!”
