This course is for middle and high school students in the traditional Algebra 1 course. Topics for the Semester 1 Course include: Equation Solving, Expression vs Equation, Operations and Their Opposites, Order Of Operations, Properties of Math, One Step Equations, Two Step Equations, Three Step Equations, Multistep Equations, Variables on Both Sides Equations, Absolute Value Equations, Rewriting Equations and Formulas, Inequalities, Number Lines and Set Notation, Writing and Graphing Inequalities, Solving Inequalities with addition and subtraction, Solving Inequalities with multiplication and division, Multistep Inequalities, Compound Inequalities, Absolute Value Inequalities, Positive and Negative Slope, Slope Triangles and Intercepts, Rate of Change, The Basics of Graphing, Domain and Range, Linear Vs. Non-Linear Graphing, Function Notation, using DESMOS dot com, Graphing Lines in Slope Intercept Form, Graphing Linears in Standard Form, Transformations of Linear Graphs, Graphing Absolute Value Linears, Writing Equations in Slope Intercept From, Writing Equations in Point-Slope Form, Writing Equations of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines, Systems of Equations, Finding the Solution in Systems, Solving Equations by Graphing, Graphing Linear Equations in Two Variables, Systems of Linear Inequalities, Independent vs Dependent Variables, Arithmetic Sequences, Geometric Sequences, Multipliers, Piecewise Functions, Functions vs. Relations, and More. These topics are covered in instructional videos on how to solve the most commonly given problems. This course is primarily made for students who struggle with math in middle and high school. Necessary materials for the course are a standard calculator (a phone app is fine too), writing instrument and paper or composition book. In addition to videos are provided PDF’s on all problems presented and a PDF on Algebra 1 vocabulary covering 400+ of the most common Algebra 1 vocabulary words. These are the same lessons I have used with my Algebra 1 students since 2001.
