DescriptionAircraft Performance Calculations are important to know how to do in the event you are flying into a short field or are flying a large aircraft into an unfamiliar airport. They can even be used to determine how much fuel is needed for cruise and what power setting will give you the best speed or the best fuel burn at altitude. You will also learn about climbs and descents. But where does pressure altitude, density altitude, and the wind go into these calculations? How do the notes effect my landing or takeoff performance? Also, where do I find my taxi fuel required? Why do I need to know this anyway? Many of flight students have a difficult time understanding the charts and graphs in section 5 of the Pilot Operating handbook and to be honest, I was one of them when I was learning to fly. I created this course for you to understand those confusing charts and graphs and make them less confusing. They no longer need to be a different language. Now as a professional pilot, I use these charts to test fly aircraft to make sure that they match the books and even use them while I'm flying in the flight levels on the way to a sometimes-tropical destination.
