ACCA's MA1 Management Information paper is the second paper in the ACCA's foundation level qualification. It is an international course which aims to teach students to effectively recognise, provide and maintain management information.

No previous knowledge of accounting, additional material or software is required for this paper, although access to Microsoft excel would be beneficial.

In order to sit the ACCA exam students must apply direct to ACCA for student membership and exam entry.

• Recording costs

• The spreadsheet system

This course is for complete beginners, providing a starting point for those wanting to pursue a career in accounting as an accounting technician or those wanting to become a professional accountant but who may not meet the entry requirements to start their studies straight away with the ACCA qualification.

This course is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of management accounting techniques to support management in planning, controlling and monitoring performance in a variety of business contexts. By the end of the course you should be able to understand the basics of management accounting in order for you to progress onto more complicated management accounting techniques and methods.
