In this chapter we will learn about bonding in carbon, the covalent bond, formation of covalent bonds in some molecules, unique nature of carbon, hydrocarbon, branches, chains and rings, representation of organic compounds, functional group, homologous series, nomenclature o organic compounds, branched chain hydrocarbons, chemical properties of carbon compounds, some important compounds.

Chapter- 5: Periodic Classification Of Elements

In this chapter we will learn about making order out of chaos, organizing the chemical elements, some earliest attempts to classify the elements, Mendeleev periodic law, achievements of Mendleev periodic table, modern periodic table, basis of classification of elements, description of groups and periods of the periodic table, some important periodic properties of the elements, advantages of the periodic table.
